Baby blue sky

commissioned by the Stockholm Transport

Baby blue sky is a fragment of a constant summer-blue sky over Jakobsberg's commuters. The imaginary cloud formation that floats over the station is the common motive frequently appearing at all levels, in different dimensions and materials. Baby blue sky is integrated into the architecture of the building as a natural part of the whole.

A glimpse of the blue sky is visible in the glass vitrage in the ceiling. The motive of linear cloud formations appears integrated in the glass covered floor opening and terrazzo floors on both levels. In the central part of the station hall two benches rise around a glass covered floor opening, formed by cloud patterns on the floor. Over the stations staircases luminous neon butterflies float.

In 2007 Baby blue sky has been awarded by Stockholm City Building Committee.
